As I mentioned, I was on a unbridled passionate quest to find a solution to end even the deadliest hurricanes – forever ~
My background as an accomplished martial artist and energy healer were to serve me in yet unfathomable ways in the next few weeks…
As the world’s fastest martial artist with an incredible 8 punches in .97 seconds *Less than a Second! I have reached the pinnacle in athletic performance.
I studied a form of martial arts training called “Mind Over Matter” since I was 15. This amazing yet very forward thinking style of training began when I 1st observed my black belt neighbor breaking a cinderblock with his bare hand. I was stunned and absolutely fascinated with this remarkable achievement. A few years later I was invited to compete In Madison Square Garden’s felt forum in a international martial arts competition. It was there that my perceptions on what is humanly possible were stretched to previously unimaginable lengths.
The impeccable talents of the martial artist worldwide at the event were indeed astounding. But what fascinated me the most in terms of human performance ability live beyond the stationary forms competition and the fighting competitions.
My fascination? It was the absolutely stunning Mind Over Matter exhibitions later that evening…
A black belt came onto the center stage for all of us to watch. The removed his karate Gi top (uniform). Several assistants came onto the stage and laid out a large drop cloth. Several others came up with a garbage can filled with glass bottles of all shapes and sizes. Next an accomplished bodybuilder came up with a huge 16 pound sledgehammer. This bodybuilder began to smash down on all of the glass bottles that were placed inside the large metal garbage can.
The events that took place next defy human comprehension entirely ~
The hugely muscled bodybuilder finished breaking up the glass bottles in the garbage can. He then poured out the broken glass onto the drop cloth in a rectangular pile. Next several other assistants brought up a flatbed cart loaded with 4 300 pound slabs of ice.
The black belt with his Gi top off lied on top of the rectangular pile of broken glass.
I could not believe my eyes!
All of the assistants on stage began to place the for 300 pound slabs of ice on top of the lying prone black belts bare chest. This man must be hemorrhaging to death under all of that weight on the broken glass I thought!
Next it got REALLY freaky!
The huge bodybuilder with his 16 pound sledgehammer began to smash the ice on the black belts chest with 4 massive blows!
I was absolutely speechless!
Next the assistants cleaned off the black belts chest from the remaining ice pieces. They helped him up and wiped off his chest.
Totally amazing not a single bruise!
Then the black belt turned around and they wiped the glass pieces off his back…
Holy !!!!!! Not a Single Cut on his entire back!
That is the amazing power of mind over matter applied towards injury prevention…
Less than a month after deadly Hurricane Katrina struck the city of New Orleans with absolute devastation Hurricane Rita came storming up the Gulf of Mexico…
I got an e-mail from Dr. Joe Vitale of “The Secret” fame. Its headline read:
Help me stop Rita!
Dr. Vitale went on to describe the fact that Hurricane Rita was only 23 hours away from the town of Houston Texas. the doctor and I have been casual friends for half a dozen years or so. On occasion I would receive e-mails from him.
In this now fateful e-mail, Joe went on to describe rather fascinating proposition he had for me. He mentioned the late Maharishi’s breakthrough work with crime rate reduction in Washington DC in 1972. I was familiar with this fascinating research. The doctor propose that we use the power of positive thinking in a meditation to calm the now frantic crowds trying to flee the city.
I instantly had a Life Saving and now Life Transforming Epiphany…

Meditation is used in many ways by virtually all cultures across the globe today.
Meditation has its cultural roots going all the way back to the ancient Atlantean civilization. This civilization was far more advanced than ours currently today. The Atlantean’s in fact were known to live a life span of 200 to 250 years of age. Even more incredible was the fact that their youth had somehow been preserved to resemble a person of 30 to 50 years of age. This is just one example of the infinite possibilities available through meditation.
Meditation was carried forward to the ancient yogis from the Atlantean race many thousands of years ago. The yogis used this form of spiritual practice to become “one with the spirit” and to vastly enhance their mental and physical well-being on virtually every level.
Today the sacred practice of meditation is enjoyed within virtually every culture worldwide on 6 continents.
Meditative practice has been used for thousands of years to heal all sickness and disease both mentally and physically. Today this highly evolved spiritual practice has been used to optimize everything in the universe literally. For example in 1972 the late Maharishi combined a group of his highly trained meditators to perform breakthrough experiments in crime reduction. He and his group focused their projected meditative intentions towards reducing the crime rate in Washington DC. Washington DC has one of the highest crime rates in the USA.
The results of this milestone experiment were astounding.
When the Maharishi’s experiment was concluded all of the police precincts within a radius Washington DC were extensively interviewed. When the results came back it was jaw-dropping. Because this now legendary experiment had produced an astounding 16% reduction in crime rate throughout Washington DC…
The Maharishi was known for his groundbreaking “Transcendental Meditation” style of meditative healing. back in the 60s and early 70s his teachings became legendary. Even Hollywood movie stars and world-famous musicians gravitated towards his work on meditation. This star-studded list included the likes of none other than Clint Eastwood, Burt Reynolds, Donovan, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and John Lennon of the Beatles.
The world can thank the late Maharishi for bringing forward to the Western world the gift of spiritual enlightenment through meditation. He was also the first one to combine this sacred practice with amazing scientific research to back up the results that previously had to be experienced to be fully understood and appreciated. We all him a tremendous amount of divine gratitude.
The PEAR that bore the fruit of projected positive intention
Another breakthrough example of the infinite powers of meditation for healing could be found within the PEAR project at Princeton University. This project focused on the mental capabilities of the human consciousness in many areas. One of these studies was on the ability to influence a random effects generator to make more zeros then ones.
The PEAR became most famous for something far more truly extraordinary. On graduation day University of Princeton holds their graduation ceremonies outdoors. This is done simply because they cannot host these ceremonies for 15,000 graduates inside. Rain or shine, the graduation festivities continue on.
What about the possibility of rain or thunderstorms?
This is where the extraordinary comes into play. The University of Princeton has never had rain wash out their graduation ceremonies… How could this be possible? Influenced by their PEAR project classmates, the University of Princeton students consciously project the positive expectation of no rain for on graduation day. When this phenomenon was measured in a radius around the University, miraculously scientific studies prove there was very little to no rainfall on that given day for over 40 years…
0 More Katrina!
In 2005 Hurricane Katrina crushed the beloved city of New Orleans with absolute disaster. I found myself searching for an answer to end deadly hurricanes forever. I called my passionate quest “0 More Katrina”.

Some Words of Advice on PH Alkaline Ionizer Water Systems ~
Do remember 1 thing – There are PH Alkaline Ionizer Water Systems out there costing $4,000.00 and up that do not deliver the quality I personally recommend. So the priciest in this case, is not the best. There is a lot of junk out there also. I know and I almost bought one that cost a bit less. Then I looked at the Specs. The exotic materials and computer components do not come cheap… An analogy is a True Diamond Ring – does Not cost $149.00 Make sense?
I have done extensive research into the PH Alkaline Water Systems available on the market today. Can Consuming Organic Food Grass Fed Beef and Cultured Milk Transform Your Life From Sickness and Disease Jordan Rubin Interview part 9
Can Consuming Organic Food Grass Fed Beef and Cultured Milk Transform Your Life From Sickness and Disease Jordan Rubin Interview part 9
I tell this gut-wrenching story because we have no idea what the future will bring. Kingdoms rise, and kingdoms fall. The United States of America has been a great civilization—the shining city upon a hill—since we fought for our independence after our country was formed on July 4, 1776. I realize that I would have never been born if Lady Liberty hadn’t opened her arms to my grandmother back at Ellis Island, so I am eternally grateful.
Now I have my own family to look after and care for. I married Nicki in 1999, and we have three children ages seven and under, so following through on the deep desire in my heart to produce my own food and provide places of refuge is very real to me. Whenever Nicki and I talked through my vision, she was on board, especially as we discussed what was happening to our nation in recent years.
We felt as though the scales were coming off our eyes and could clearly see the world around us. We agreed that our economy is based on paper money that is backed by absolutely nothing, and most of us use a piece of plastic to buy things we don’t need with money we don’t have from someone who doesn’t even own them. With federal deficits flying through the roof and state governments straining to balance their budgets, it all seems like a house of cards.
If history is a guide, it reminds us that it wouldn’t take much—a run on the banks, a stock market collapse, a cataclysmic event or, God forbid, a major terrorist attack on a U.S. city—to see it all start tumbling to the ground.
What is Wealth?
As God spoke to me about Joseph, I was prompted to do a study in Scripture about what He considers wealth. I read that Abraham grew wealthy with cattle, gold, and silver. Isaac planted a field and reaped a hundredfold harvest. Jacob, through his wisdom and discernment, grew his flocks and herds. Job was blessed “twice as much” later in life with sheep, camels, and donkeys. God describes His own wealth in Psalms by saying, He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. After reading that, I realized that it probably would be a good idea to own cattle on a hill or two myself. I also knew I needed to find sustainable
sources of water since water is even more important for life than food. I began a nationwide search to find the right land while crisscrossing the country on a forty-five foot tour bus that was part of a six-month promotional tour for my book, Perfect Weight America, during the first half of 2008.
We looked at properties in Idaho, California, and North Carolina but didn’t find what we were looking for. In the fall of 2009 after a long search, we found just the right place—seven different pieces of property totaling 8,600 acres in southern Missouri’s Ozark mountains and north Georgia’s Blue Ridge mountains.
Talk about being “all in.”
The best part about my God-given vision is that the dream to produce the world’s healthiest foods and beverages, to provide water, food, shelter, clothing and protection to people who need it most, to offer places of refuge and best of all hope to a lost and dying world, isn’t mine alone.
This is my invitation for you to join me in my mission to transform the health of this nation and world, one life at a time.
You, too, can live beyond organic.

Can Consuming Organic Food Grass Fed Beef and Cultured Milk Transform Your Life From Sickness and Disease Jordan Rubin Interview part 8
Pharaoh believed everything Joseph said and put him in charge of all the land in Egypt as well as the food storage program.
During the seven years of “plenty,” Joseph made sure that enough food was set aside to see Egypt through the coming famine. Sure enough, when the rains didn’t fall and crops failed throughout the entire known world, people came from all countries to buy grain from Joseph—including Joseph’s brothers.
When the contingent from Canaan arrived, they were led into a palace chamber where Joseph heard requests for food and grain. When his brothers walked in, Joseph recognized them, but they didn’t know who he was because it had been more than a decade since they had seen him.
The brothers all bowed to him because he was an important person—just as Joseph had dreamed years earlier.
After a few meetings with his brothers, Joseph couldn’t keep it in any longer. “I am Joseph!” he said. “Is my father alive?”
But his brothers couldn’t answer him because they were afraid.
“Come here,” Joseph said. “I am your brother, the one you sold. Do not worry, and do not be angry at yourselves for selling me because God has put me here to save people from starving.” He also said one of my favorite lines in the Bible: “What you meant for bad, to hurt me, God has meant for good!”
How is that for an unbelievable attitude?
So Joseph sent his brothers back with food and provisions, and eventually his father, his brothers, and their families came to live in Egypt with Joseph, where they had all the food that they needed.
Not only did Joseph’s provision save the lives in his family, but there is evidence in Scripture that this worldwide famine caused starvation among people everywhere and the only ones who survived were those who obtained food through Joseph by his God-given wisdom.
God used Joseph to save the world. Today, we believe that the story of Joseph was a foreshadowing of the One who was to come that would bring spiritual salvation to the world, Jesus our savior.
Jordan, you need to be a Joseph.
What did that mean?
When I first heard that voice in the stillness of my heart, I went back and reread the story of Joseph in the last thirteen chapters of Genesis. I was struck by the wisdom that God gave Joseph to store up food during seven years of plenty in advance of the seven years of famine that were coming. I’m sure that many people in Pharaoh’s court thought Joseph was nuts, but because of his foresight and trust in God that he was given the right interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream, there would be enough to eat in the land of Egypt and in Joseph’s own family. The future nation of Israel would be saved.
So the Lord told me to be a Joseph, a person who could provide food, hydration, shelter, and protection to people in coming years.
I’m thirty-six years old, and those of us in Generation X don’t think much about impending doom or the end of the world. We have known only economic prosperity throughout our short lives, although the Great Recession of the last few years have given many of us pause that the U.S. economy will never be as vibrant as the decade from the late-1990s to 2008.
The point is that no one is immune from great hardship and difficulties, and those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. In fact, those in my own family experienced great tragedy at the hands of outside forces.
My late grandmother, Rose, was born in 1922 in a pastoral Polish village that could have doubled as the set for Fiddler on the Roof. She was the youngest of seven children born to Gidalia and Simma Catz.
Her Jewish family faced growing harassment during that uneasy era following World War I, and then Adolf Hitler was elected chancellor of Germany in 1933. He moved quickly to pass repressive anti-Jewish laws—and persecution of Jews intensified elsewhere throughout Europe.
Amid this hostile environment, Rose’s family talked about fleeing Poland. Fortunately for them, there was still time to get out. Thirteen-year-old Rose joined her parents and several siblings and immigrated in 1935 to the United States, where the family settled in Queens, New York. They were among the last wave of European Jews to arrive in America prior to World War II.
Two of my great-aunts—my grandmother’s oldest sisters, Sonya and Dora— were already married with their own families and felt they didn’t need to come to America. They had husbands and jobs, and they believed their government would protect them from the likes of Hitler.
After the war, we learned what happened to Sonya and Dora as well as their families. During the Nazi blitzkrieg that swept Poland in 1939, they were rounded up by the SS and paraded through the streets along with other Jewish families. Then the children—screaming with fright—were separated from their parents and shot before their horrified eyes. Next, the women were ordered to gather, and they were gunned down in front of their husbands.
And then all the men stood shoulder to shoulder in front of the machine guns.
It’s hard to believe that such inhumanity could happen, but this massacre—the forerunner of Hitler’s “Final Solution” for European Jewry—happened less than seventy-five years ago. In the annals of time, this is a blink of an eye.

Can Consuming Organic Food Grass Fed Beef and Cultured Milk Transform Your Life From Sickness and Disease Jordan Rubin Interview part 7
I’m Jewish, and one of my favorite stories in the Tenach, or Old Testament as we call it today, is about Joseph. It’s one of the great stories in history.
Joseph was born in Canaan many centuries ago—long before Moses or Jesus came to this earth. He was the eleventh of twelve sons born to Jacob and the son of the love of Jacob’s life, Rachel.
Joseph must have been something special because his father clearly favored him over his older brothers and showed everyone how he felt by giving Joseph an elegant robe “of many colors.”
Jacob’s favoritism of Joseph caused jealousy in the family, and his older brothers didn’t react well. They barely spoke to Joseph and let it be known that they hated him with a passion. They grumbled among themselves and couldn’t say a kind word about him.
One day, when Joseph was in his late teens, he told his brothers about a strange dream he had.
“Guess what, guys? Last night I dreamt we were tying up bunches of grain out in the field when suddenly my bunch stood up while all of yours gathered around and bowed to mine.”
The brothers looked at each other in disgust, but Joseph continued. “Then I had another dream that the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed down to me.”
“Who do you think you are?” one of his older brothers said. “Do you think that you are better than all of us? Do you think that we would ever bow down to you?”
This made the brothers dislike Joseph even more.
A few days later, Jacob asked Joseph to run an errand for him—check on his brothers out in the fields, which were quite a distance away.
When the brothers saw Joseph approaching, they hatched a plan to kill him. But Reuben, the oldest brother, calmed the hotheads down. “Let’s not kill him,” he said. “Just throw him in a well out here in the field.” Reuben suggested this because he was secretly planning to come back and rescue Joseph when the other brothers had left for the day.
Joseph had a rude reception upon his arrival. His brothers grabbed him, yanked off his beautiful robe, and threw him into the empty well. A little while later, a band of Ishmaelite traders passed through the fields, saying they were on their way to Egypt, where they planned to sell their goods.
“Why don’t we sell Joseph to these people?” said one of the brothers. “That way we never have to see him again, but we don’t have to kill him.”
The other brothers liked the idea, and Reuben wasn’t there to stop them. So Joseph was placed on the auction block, and off he went—hands and feet bound—to Egypt. Once there, Joseph found out that he belonged to an important man named Potiphar, an assistant to the Pharaoh of Egypt.
Meanwhile, back at home, the rest of the brothers had to create a storyline about what happened to Joseph since his parents—especially his father, Jacob—would be worried sick about him.
One of the brothers took Joseph’s beautiful robe, dipped it in animal blood, and returned to Jacob. When the father saw this, he cried out, “Some animal has killed my son!” Then he fell to his knees in tears, and he was inconsolable for days.
What happened to Joseph? Well, he started out as a slave, but the Lord was with him and no matter where Joseph was placed, he chose to do what was right. So Potiphar made him his helper and put him in charge of everything he owned.
Things were looking better for Joseph, but then he got royally messed with when Potiphar’s wife accused him of making unwanted advances towards her. It was her word against his, and she won—despite the horrible lie she told. Joseph was thrown into prison and languished there for years until one day when Pharaoh heard that Joseph had an uncanny ability to interpret dreams. Pharaoh had a crazy dream that he couldn’t figure out, and nobody could explain it to him.
Joseph was brought before Pharaoh, who asked him, “Can you understand dreams?” “I can’t, but the God I serve gives me the wisdom,” Joseph replied. So Pharaoh described his troubling dream, which Joseph immediately explained. “God is warning you,” he began. “There will be seven years where nothing will grow and there won’t be food for anyone.”
This wasn’t what Pharaoh wanted to hear. “What can I do?” he asked. “God has shown you what to do. There will be seven years that will be very good prior to those bad years. So good that there will be extra food for everyone. So you should set aside a portion of each year’s harvest. That way you’ll have enough to get you through the lean years.”

Several years ago ~ I received a fateful email from a dear friend Niko:
This morning I received an e-mail from a dear friend living in Denmark.
“Please say a prayer for me”.
It was from Niko.
I was concerned.
Why?
Because Niko is typically a volcano of positive vibrant energy. Day and night.
So I sped through the mail. Afterwards I was still left with the question -
What happened to Niko?
So I immediately messaged her back on Facebook.
“Look at my profile” was her cryptic sounding reply…
So I got on Facebook and looked at Nico’s profile.
“Breast Cancer”… the answers simply cannot get any worse.
Because Niko is very beautiful young woman with a lot to lose in her life.
Breast cancer is a serious global concern that is growing exponentially.
Because these rivers of tears flood through stealing dreams – and their hopes every hour of every day.
Fortunately for Niko she is in a better position for total recovery.
Because Niko emailed ME…

4) Fitness level – an essential part of overall life vitality is provided physically fit. I have some ideas I will share that can maximize your fitness levels in 20 minutes a day.
5) Cancer fighting nutritional supplement intake – there are now superfood-based cancer fighting nutritional supplements that can dramatically assist in fighting breast cancer.
6) Energy healing Meditations – once you have provided the ideal nutritional and attitude support for your cancer fighting quest, next are Specific focused “Healer 2.0 Energy Healing” meditations which are perfect complements to fighting cancer.
Next I Wrote this message to a group of Energy Healers I trained in the healing art of “Healer 2.0 Energy Healing”
==> “Save Niko Volunteers” – Next I want to provide an overview of what is known as “The Stewart Principle of a Global Healing Synergy”.
Back in 1972 the late Maharishi preformed an experiment that could have changed how mankind approaches crime. Because he organized a group of specially trained healers to meditate on creating peace in Washington DC. DC is probably the most crime-ridden city in the entire US. Yet despite this formidable challenge is able to achieve a breakthrough 16% reduction in crime rate for the entire radius around Washington DC.
Back in 2007 I organized a global experiment on six continents with 108 people, all from another country. Our goal was to literally save the life of a person undergoing brain surgery the next day for a life-threatening brain aneurysm.
Jason Oman, a best-selling co-author was given a 35% chance to recover from the surgery the next day.
I took my small list of hundred and eight readers of my then “0g News” newsletter. And I e-mailed them my plan to synergize feeling intentions on six continents and focusing them specifically on Jason over the next 24 hours.
The result? We gave him 120% chance to live… and I had the rare fate of having lunch with him and his mother twice since then…
When the news came back of my success with saving Jason’s life my list of readers told seemingly everyone in the whole world.
As a result I achieved global acclaim in 18 hours on six continents. At the expense of crushing Facebook, my two hour old website and my global blog with passionate traffic.
The “Distance Healers Mastermind of Mankind 2.0″ was born…
Since then this “Stewart principle of global healing synergy” has provided life-saving assistance for:
1) John Force when he crashed violently resulting in critical condition circumstances.
2) Keeping a international kids karate tournament injury free. Over 2000 champion level kids attended with no injuries.
3) Dissipating deadly category five hurricanes. Actually, many more than one…
(7 successful hurricane dissipations by myself and then 54 more globally as of October 2011 with my “Save a Dream-Team of Energy Healing Volunteers”)
“So – do you think we can save Niko from deadly breast cancer?”
My question to you is -
“Are You In?”
Fast Forward to October 2011…
Did we Save Niko from Deadly Breast Cancer?
2 Years later – An October 2011 picture is worth at least 1,000 words… – Glen

Yoga is a Lifestyle not Just a Proven Form of Stretching Your Muscles and Feeling Energized

Yoga is a Lifestyle not Just a Proven Form of Stretching Your Muscles and Feeling Energized
Yoga is a proven 5,000 year old way of healing and transforming the Body, Mind and Spirit
Yet with 5,000 year old track record, Yoga is a very unique experience to each and every Yoga Practitioner.
There are 18 formalized Yoga Styles globally. And in addition, there are countless adaptations to the 18 standardized ways of teaching Yoga. Some of these Yoga offsprings come in the form of a base of a classical form with a few personalized additions. This this “new” way becomes known by a different name suitable to the new Yoga instructor.
Yoga has blossomed from very classical teachings – especially in the Western World. This has happened primarily because of the demographics of the Western Yoga students of today. Most in the Western World do not worship “Krishna”. As a result many of the ancient teaching relating to Hinduism have been simplified to just include “Asana” terminology.
In addition some Yoga schools have carried forward the ancient form of natural based healing called Ayurveda Healing. Other Yoga Schools have simplified to just their chosen Yoga Poses or “Asanas”
Here is an article written on the behind the scenes world of being a Yoga Practitioner as a Lifestyle….
Published in The Guardian:
“It’s meant to be spiritual, you know”
“Disco yoga? Laughter yoga? It’s more popular than ever before – but these days yoga is a lifestyle choice rather than a serious practice.”
Is there anyone who hasn’t tried yoga? Classrooms, gyms, studios and church halls are groaning with yoga devotees from Los Angeles to New York, from London to Sydney and more recently from Tokyo to Shanghai and Seoul. Movie stars, models, designers and television personalities have “found” yoga. We read about it endlessly (and inaccurately) in the media, snap up celebrity DVDs and books, go on yoga courses and retreats, not to mention taking it up as a career option (it used to be a vocation) along with the essential props of branded belts, blocks, mats and clothing, an organic diet and an ecologically conscious lifestyle which can be picked up and put down as easily as getting in and out of your 4×4.
So ubiquitous is yoga, and in so many forms, that we now have the British Yoga Championships, devotees of which are attempting to get yoga “recognised” as an Olympic sport. And one of the reigning British yoga champions has been doing yoga for only two years.
Pushing the Olympic dream forward is the Bikram school of yoga, founded by Bikram Choudry, who was always more of an athlete than an athlete. His system of the same 26 poses performed in a room heated to 41C was devised originally to restore his own health after a gymnastics accident at 20. Now, thanks to a nine-week teacher-training course and 840 studios world-wide, Bikram is claimed to be the fastest-growing yoga system in the world.
So I feel like a grumpy old woman as I clock up not two but 30 years of yoga practice, as well as a teaching qualification that took two years’ study of anatomy, philosophy, history and teaching practice. I despair at the idea that we now want to turn a 5,000-year-old spiritual system, seen in the words of the founder of Viniyoga, TKV Desikachar (an Indian guru who is still teaching today) as “the discipline of controlling the mind, rooted in ancient Vedic texts”, into a competition on a par with figure skating and gymnastics.
I feel even more depressed to hear that the egregious spread of any number of types of yoga has extended back to India itself, the home of yoga, where fashionable girls in Mumbai are taking it up for the first time because “Madonna does it”.
Power yoga classes, the Californian way, seem to have become a platform for both teachers and pupils to show off toned torsos as well as to perform and impress with their fabulous ability to bend and contort the body into ever more demanding positions. What happened to inquiry and the acquisition of wisdom? What happened to the teaching of BKS Iyengar, who suggested that all you need for yoga practice is a mat and some space in the shade?
No longer does the aspiring yogi have to choose from acknowledged schools such as Hatha, Iyengar, Sivenanda, Ashtanga or Kundalini – the Bhagavad Gita (regarded as a sacred text by the majority of Hindu traditions) actually names 18 different kinds, each with its own emphasis. Today, due to the proliferation of yoga across the western world, teachers with only a few weeks or years of knowledge are offering a plethora of new permutations, some of which have strayed a very long way from the original systems.
Today you can choose from any number of “yoga fusions”, among them power chi yoga (a combination of tai chi and Ashtanga yoga), Sport yoga (aerobics and yoga), Fitcamp Fusion (yoga and pilates), weight loss yoga, disco yoga and laughter yoga (the latest hot trend from Los Angeles) – and that’s not a joke. I could go on.
“In the 60s, we didn’t know anything about yoga and we accepted all things oriental with blind faith,” says Peter Blackaby, a distinguished teacher with a practice in Brighton. “But after 40 years yoga has flowered and, yes, diversified and some of it is mad. Absolutely mad.”
Indeed, some teachers think that if they throw in some pseudo-science, a bit of Sanskrit, some chanting but little instruction, then that is all right. In one class in LA they even played bagpipe music and I wondered if they thought that it was Indian. And remember the woman who came back from India some years ago practising a yoga that involved not eating, just breathing?
“There is such a thing as intelligent yoga,” says Blackaby. “It’s about letting go, unravelling muscles only where you need to. There is nothing mindless or sleepy about it. ”
“For this article, I went recently to a so-called Ashtanga class in central London with a friend who is happily caught up in a passion for yoga. I have been to classes all over the world, in chilly church halls, mouldy basements, Zen gymnasiums, hotel spas as well as on distant beaches and in shaded gardens.
I have woken at dawn and driven from London to Oxford for regular classes and workshops. I have tried classes in Thailand, New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Shanghai. I have done days of yoga, three- and five-hour sessions and 40-minute bursts; classes where “gurus to the famous” presided and joss sticks were burned; where there was Sanskrit chanting, mystic breathing, and yogic jumping. I have done classes on my own and classes with up to 100 people.
In the Ashtanga class I tried, the pupils were packed in so tightly that the teacher couldn’t possibly see whether we were unravelling or not and she had no assistant. (It appeared to be more about making money than sharing knowledge.) She had what I call an Ashtanga body – taut and defined – and she started the class with an extremely advanced set of breathing exercises that are potentially dangerous. We then progressed to the familiar, tiresome routine of endless down-dogs, up-dogs and chatarangas that seem typical of many of today’s classes; repetitious poses that merely add up to callisthenics with absolutely no attention paid to the very stiff who were trying to go much further than their capabilities allowed.
Rarely do I go to a class (except those with my own teacher, Chloe Fremantle) in which upside-down poses (headstand, shoulder stand and variations), let alone a series of thoughtful floor poses (twists and balances), are taught or the individual is considered. It is all about pumping people up, rather than bringing them down into a calm, mindful place – despite ending the session with a bit of chanting (Sanskrit? Hindu? Tibetan?), to add a touch of random spirituality.
“In 1976, studying with Iyengar in India, we were told that we were very lucky to be learning yoga because it was something that was only for high-class, spiritual Indians,” says teacher and yoga book author Mary Stewart. “Nowadays yoga has been dumbed down. Publishers demand a ‘celebrity’ on the book or magazine cover even if they don’t know how to do the poses,” she says. “And I was asked to include a 10-minute programme presumably because no one these days is thought to have the attention span to do it for longer. In 1983, I was told that the word yoga could not be used, if the book I was co-writing was to sell in middle America.”
Stretch and Relax (the title that was chosen, and her first of six books on yoga) has sold for more than 20 years. Today anyone can write a yoga book and, worse still, sacred chants, costumes and rituals have been ambushed and taken up without conscience.
And this is the same yoga that Carl Jung described as “the spiritual achievement of the East, one of the greatest things the human mind has ever created”. What would he say about Geri Halliwell’s video? Would he be disenchanted to know that the desire for money and fame has corrupted Indians as well as westerners, many of whom have played along with what they think westerners want, both in India and, particularly, in guru-friendly California, branding their schools and systems for the rewards of money, status, cars and jewellery.
“Beneath the bogus spirituality and superficiality of some of the yoga around,” says Stewart, “there is a yearning among generations all over the world for something deeper and more meaningful.” I agree.
Yoga that is about strength and competition misses the point and inevitably ends up with injury and disillusion. Poses should be beneficial, not detrimental, as we strive for balance and the ability to sit and meditate with ease. The practice is about grounding and releasing; it involves effort but not push and struggle.
With or without Olympic yoga, there are people who will take yoga onwards and who realise the deep significance and power of its roots. “How can I say what is good and bad?” said the great Iyengar, recently interviewed about the way yoga is going. “People will find what they are looking for.”
That seems to say it all.
==================================================
The author was on point in many ways in terms of Yoga as a lifestyle. Transparently speaking, if you interview 100 Yoga Instructors, you will have 100 very sacred yet very individualized experiences. Yoga, unless taught in a standardized format such as the globally famous Bikram Yoga Franchise, can indeed vary widely in terms of Yoga Practitioner experience. And this can vary from Yoga Teacher to Yoga Teacher within the same Yoga School.
Yoga in this sense is like Martial Arts self defense instruction. In martial arts there are over 1,200 distinct styles globally as of the mid 1970′s. Bruce Lee was known to experience all of these before he set forth to sculpt his own “Highly Simplified” from called “Jeet Kune Do”. I am mentioning this because many contemporary Yoga styles such as Power Yoga, are essentially adaptations of more classical Yoga teachings.
In the end just as “No Man Is An Island” – no 1 form of Yoga is everything for everyone. And in the same vein, clearly not everything there is to possibly experience. Having shared that – I personally take part in Bikram Yoga when I am wanting to be part of that experience for a session, and my own form of “Sports Yoga” for the intense muscle building poses specifically for sports. I also combine my globally acclaimed Energy Healing Meditations with Bikram Yoga for optimized healing when needed.

Surviving Deadly Rectal Cancer – How The World Sadly Lost Actress Farrah Fawcett and How to Survive Cancer Using Energy Healing and Distance Healing
This Article on Surviving Cancer was written several years ago on my globally acclaimed “Mankind 2.0″ blog.
The alarming Cancer rates in the World today prompted me to repost it for the benefit of cancer stricken people globally.
“To Farrah ~”
I was floored today with the shocking news that famous Hollywood actress Farrah Fawcett is incredibly condition with deadly rectal cancer. Reportedly she has tried an alternative therapy in Germany but this cancerous condition has threatened her yet again.
As my global readers know I am a holistic health researcher and not an allopathic doctor.
In the traditional practice of holistic medicine – an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. In a crisis situation such as this there is another alternative that can provide assistance even in dire times of need. While this particular traditional therapy is not a panacea for everyone or every condition, Farrah Fawcett currently needs all the help she can get.
The particular holistic practice I am speaking of is called Reiki, Energy Healing and in this case Distance Healing. Energy healing has roots that date back to the ancient Atlantean civilization over 25,000 years ago. In the 1800’s energy healing was rediscovered by the Japanese and coined the term Reiki.
Energy healing is transmitted from one human to another through focused positive intentions and a connection to the divine. It can be applied through hands-on therapy by a certified Reiki Master. At a higher level it can also be applied to anyone anywhere on the globe through focused healing connection to the divine from experienced Reiki Master.
In my book “Visions Of A Champion” on Amazon.com I thoroughly cover this forward thinking and life transforming practice of energy healing.
For now I ask all of my global readership to inherently trust the unlimited power of their subconscious mind. While this post cannot completely cover such an advanced holistic therapy, trust in the fact that everyone can attract a healing difference using the powers of the Law of attraction.
With this in mind let’s gather together globally and make a life-saving difference to such wonderful and cherished human beings as Farrah Fawcett truly was – in your own family.
Let’s apply that Cancer Survival mindset to the sacred cancer stricken members of your family.
1) Sit comfortably with your feet touching the floor your back straight and your hands lying comfortably palms up in your lap. Have your thumb touch your middle finger on both hands.
2) Have the tip of your tongue touch the top pallet on the inside of your mouth.
3) Begin relaxing by breathing deeply into your nose and peacefully exhaling away all stress and daily thoughts.
4) Imagine your mind, body and conscious spirit being as peaceful as a silent pool of water on a truly glorious day.
5) Picture yourself connecting to the spiritually divine with a beautiful healing white light coming down through the top of your head.
6) Also picture the divine responding to your feeling intentions and sending your Cancer stricken family member a peaceful white light of healing energy flowing throughout their entire body.
7) Now picture yourself sending this beautiful healing white light gently and reassuringly to your Cancer stricken family member as she lies comfortably in their bed.
Feel the healing energies from the divine cascading down throughout your body.
9) Now experience the God-given beauty of sending this beautiful healing experience to your Cancer stricken family member and picture it flowing life-giving healing energies throughout their body.
10) Trust your subconscious mind and it’s divine ability to heal her and be part of this healing miracle together with them.
11) Imagine these energies slowly healing their thoughts and stresses and calming their mind to receive this miracle of healing.
12) Now imagine healing energies slowly and peacefully traveling down their spine and sending vibrant healing energies to all of the corresponding organs.
13) Spend several minutes bathing their spine is beautiful miracle of healing energy.
14) Next, languidly send these healing energies through their digestive tract for several minutes and finally sending these healing energies to their Cancer stricken area.
15) Spend the next 10 minutes or so manifesting this incredible healing energies to the Cancer stricken area.
16) Finish with sending healing energies flowing throughout their entire body through your blissful and healing connection to the divine spirit.
17) Close the miracle of energy healing your cherished family member with the reassurance of peaceful divine healing solitude to yourself and them.

Energy Healing Secrets for Everything from Sports Injury and Sports Rehabilitation to Fighting Cancer as Well as Insomnia and Depression part 3
“In trying to envision yourself healthy, you need not view realistic representations of the ailing body part. Instead, imagine a virus as tiny spots on a blackboard that need erasing. Imagine yourself building new, healthy cells or sending cleaning blood to an unhealthy organ or area”
“If you have a headache, picture your brain as a rough, bumpy road that needs smoothing and proceed to smooth it out. The point is to focus on the area you believe is causing you to feel sick, and to concentrate on visualizing or imaging it to be well. The more clearly and vividly you can do this, the more effective the technique becomes”
Another method for banishing pain was developed by Russian memory expert, Solomon V. Sherehevskii, as reported by Russian psychologist Professor Luria. To banish pain, such as a headache, Sherehevskii would visualize the pain as having an actual shape, mass and color. Then, when he had a “tangible” image of the pain in his mind, he would visualize or imagine this concrete picture slowly becoming smaller and smaller until it disappeared from his mental vision. The real pain disappears with it.
Others have modified this same technique and suggest that you imagine a big bird or eagle taking the concrete image of the pain away. As it flies over the horizon, see it becoming smaller until it disappears from your view. The actual pain will disappear with it.
“Life’s blows cannot break a person whose spirit is warmed at the fire of enthusiasm” – Norman Vincent Peale
Of course, the effectiveness of this imaging technique depends on the strength of your desire to improve your health and your ability to visualize well. But there is no harm in trying it, because unlike drugs, creative visualization has no side effects.
Practice any of these visualization techniques three times a day for one week and observe your health improve.
Creative visualization and success in Sports
“Success means never letting the competition define you. You are the only one who should define yourself!” Chappell
Let me guess. You are grinning like Michael Jordan upon reading the title of this chapter, right? Sure, every athlete on earth wants to be successful, wants to be somebody that others can look up to and emulate. More often than not, if you are successful in sports, you learn how to pursue your dreams and live life to the fullest. You also have the greater responsibility of “paying forward” everything that you have accumulated. There is nothing wrong with hankering for success. It only becomes a mistake if you let it go to your head and allow it to make you an arrogant fool.
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away” – Author Unknown
In whatever type of sport you choose, success is the mark of excellence. It is the distinction which separates you from ordinary individuals. It is the delineation between the mediocre and the best.
If you want to be an amazing success in sports, follow these tips:
“There is nothing like a dream to create the future” – Victor Hugo
Pay close attention to the thoughts in your mind. Try to distinguish whether the thoughts are mostly reflecting optimistic or pessimistic views. Are you happy with what you’ve discovered? If your often-repeated thoughts are constructive, well and good. If not, don’t fret. It’s not the end of the world yet.
“Raise the Bar of Your Commitment so High that Excuses can’t Jump Up and Pull You Down”
Review what you have learned earlier. Like attracts like. If you think of breakdowns in the workplace or at home and a miserable life every day, that’s what will come to you. Again, your predominant thoughts are the key to success or failure. Use this knowledge consciously and in a positive way.
Unlike most people, you already know that creative visualization is a portal to success. Use it to your advantage. Utilize certain traits of characters and skills that you have such as faith in yourself and in your abilities. Add to these limitless patience, perseverance, powerful concentration, willpower, intense discipline and strong ambition.
“Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be” – Sheehan
Success is within your grasp, if you believe it to be so. What you imagine is the seed of what you will experience. Every success in sports starts in YOUR mind. The mental images you have attract the corresponding situations and circumstances into your life. Believe that you can impress the detail minded coach. Trust your potential to be selected on the “All Star Team”. Carry on in completing the seemingly insurmountable workouts with passion. Do your road work without hesitation. Use your passionate desire to Win – to bring out the best in every situation.
By following the tips given above, you will find out what your true goals and abilities in sports really are. You will have more more satisfying and rewarding experiences to be sure. Make the necessary focused changes in your life. Do not be afraid to prune the unwanted aspects because it will ultimately help you attain your goal of being a successful athlete.
They did it — and so can you!
